Gate current required to drive a MOSFET Since I just happened to be reading about this recently...if OP has access to Art of Electronics (3rd ed) section 3.5.4B ("Gate charge") covers much of what Neil discusses above including graphs of this behavior. (They call it the Miller "shelf", BTW. :) |

Basic Electronics Book I have the 4th edition and followed along with the 2nd edition errata (linked in the first comment). Most of those errors, especially the really egregious ones, have been cleaned up. It still ain't perfect but I liked using it along with AoE 3. Fills in gaps that AoE (intentionally) has. |

Basic Electronics Book Earlier editions of PEI were filled with some really bad mistakes/typos. Look at the (third party) errata for the 2nd edition put together by Paul Scherz. Yikes. I have the 4th edition and it is greatly improved (but I still find the occasional small error). All that being said, I like the latest edition and I used it to supplement 3rd edition of AoE. |
